As we drove into Switzerland we saw our first glimpse of the Alps.

We arrived in St. Gallen, Switzerland and walked to the medieval Old Town and stopped at the St. Laurence Church.

We then walked on to see the impressive Abbey and St. Gallen Cathedral. The grounds of the Abbey and Cathedral demonstrate Renaissance and Baroque architecture with examples of oriel window, half-timbering and frescoes.

We had dinner at a typical Swiss eatery, Marketplatz. We enjoyed a delicious meal and friendly conversation with a local couple and their dog, Sky.

You buried the lead story. I want to here more about this talking dog.
ReplyDeleteMan I love baroque architecture it's got to be my favorite of all the architectures
ReplyDeleteWhat is your favorite architecture? You know if it ain't "baroque", don't fix it.
DeleteGlad to read the trip is going as planned. The mountains are impressive; I'm having second thoughts on having quit skiing.
